Description

"Pearls’ Girls: A Personal Story of Courage & Alliances” Presented by Joscelyn A. Davis, Founder, President, and Chief Strategist at JADE Strategies

Joscelyn will proudly share the true story of the five, consecutive generations of college-educated women in her family and read from a chapter of the book she’s currently writing about her family’s experiences related to a century of sexism, racism, abandonment and triumph.

Her family’s history inspired her to cultivate a career of helping all women succeed professionally. Her personal story will inspire women to achieve against the odds and accept that other women are “never ‘the competition,’ because we will always run farther and grow stronger when we lift each other up.”

Joscelyn is well-versed in leadership, organization, and management development. As an award-winning leadership coach, Joscelyn has facilitated more than 150 training sessions on strategic planning, strengths-based leadership, high-functioning teams, collaborative cultures, emotional intelligence, and personal branding. She recently served as keynote speaker and/or facilitator for the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce, Inforum Michigan, Women’s Alliance of Southeastern Michigan, Autoliv ASP, CREW Detroit and The Power of Girlhood. Joscelyn is the creator of Mentoring Leaders, an advanced program for existing and emerging leadership teams, and Mentoring Trailblazers, a leadership development program designed specifically for women. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and University of New Haven, where she earned BA and MBA degrees, respectively.

Meet monthly for networking with other Inforum members who are interested in establishing and building professional relationships. Each month we’ll enjoy casual networking plus a brief presentation from an Inforum member regarding a topic of interest to businesswomen in our community.  Coffee and breakfast items may be purchased in the Walsh cafeteria, or you may bring your own.

The mission of the Inforum Troy Morning Networking Group is to be the one meeting you look forward to attending each month. We are committed to an “apology-free” zone so do not apologize if you’re a few minutes late, or if you need to leave a few minutes early (we’ve ALL been there). Our goal is to be a welcoming, supporting networking group for professional women. The group meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. at Walsh College.  Doors open at 7:45 a.m.

Please contact Brenda Meller at mellerbrenda@gmail.com for information or questions associated with the Troy Affinity Group, or if you are a member of Inforum interested in speaking at this group.

The Troy Affinity Group encourages members to Pay-It-Forward by paying half of a nw member’s membership fee.  If you are interested in the Pay-It-Forward program please contact Laura Rolands at rolands@wideopenwest.com.
