Description

Hold on to Your Audience: Ways to read body language and keep your audience engaged.

Have you ever been concerned that, maybe, you lost your audience, but aren’t quite sure? People do speak volumes without ever saying a word. The ability to read body language is an important skill to have in your toolbox whether you’re speaking to audience of 100 or only one.

Our speaker, Mary McPartlin, will share tips about reading body language. She will share signs of interest and disinterest so we can adjust our presentations in order to keep our audiences engaged.

Mary has spent many years engaging audiences. Currently, she is the director of resource development for the Detroit Regional Chamber. She is responsible for engaging new members and investors in the Chamber Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that funds economic development initiatives. Mary previously served as a membership sales representative responsible for selling memberships to prospective non-member businesses and providing detailed information on various programs offered through the Chamber.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Mary McPartlin served as a sales representative for fluid power components for a number of years.

Meet monthly for networking with other Inforum members who are interested in establishing and building professional relationships. Each month we’ll enjoy casual networking plus a brief presentation from an Inforum member regarding a topic of interest to businesswomen in our community.  Coffee and breakfast items may be purchased in the Walsh cafeteria, or you may bring your own.

The mission of the Inforum Troy Morning Networking Group is to be the one meeting you look forward to attending each month. We are committed to an “apology-free” zone so do not apologize if you’re a few minutes late, or if you need to leave a few minutes early (we’ve ALL been there). Our goal is to be a welcoming, supporting networking group for professional women. The group meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. at Walsh College.  Doors open at 7:45 a.m.

Please contact Brenda Meller at mellerbrenda@gmail.com for information or questions associated with the Troy Affinity Group, or if you are a member of Inforum interested in speaking at this group.

The Troy Affinity Group encourages members to Pay-It-Forward by paying half of a nw member’s membership fee.  If you are interested in the Pay-It-Forward program please contact Laura Rolands at rolands@wideopenwest.com.
