Terra Station is a $32 million mixed-use development by Veneklasen Development, a subsidiary of Veneklasen Construction, designed to reshape downtown Hudsonville into a more modern, walkable community that meets the city's growing demand for both housing and retail. The 141-unit complex at 3302 Prospect Street includes 36 studios, 59 one-bedrooms, and 46 two-bedrooms, alongside 4,640 square feet of ground-floor retail space — all spread across six buildings designed by Grand Rapids-based Integrated Architecture.

The project is inspired by Hudsonville's forward-thinking Master Plan, a vision for the city's growth through 2030, and is situated steps from Terra Square and the planned Village Green, which will serve as a central gathering place for concerts, festivals, and community events. Thirty-five of the units are reserved for workforce housing, available to households earning between 80% and 95% of area median income — directly addressing a critical regional need.

Ottawa County faces a significant housing shortage, with a 2021 Housing Next assessment identifying a need for 15,500 more housing units, including roughly 1,600 affordable workforce rental units. Terra Station — the first project in Ottawa County to utilize the state's new residential brownfield TIF program — also features 202 parking spaces tucked behind buildings to preserve streetscape vitality, a bicycle service station, and six EV charging spaces, with construction expected to wrap up by fall 2026. It represents a major stride toward the kind of dense, connected, community-centered downtown that Hudsonville and West Michigan have long needed.
