What’s Next for Tech Talent? Skills, Networks, and Strategies to Stay Ahead
As technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace, staying relevant requires more than just technical know‑how. It demands the right skills, the right networks, and a forward‑looking mindset. Join Inforum TechnologyNext (West Michigan) for a virtual fireside chat with Jen Wrangler of The Right Place, where we’ll explore the skills professionals should be building now to align with emerging technology trends, how networking is changing in a more digital and interconnected world, and where local talent can best invest their time and energy. Drawing on her experience working closely with regional employers, tech leaders, and workforce development initiatives, Jen will share practical insights on future‑proofing careers, building meaningful professional connections, and leveraging West Michigan’s growing tech ecosystem to stay ahead of what’s next.

Jen Wangler is a connector, network strategist, Vice President of Technology at The Right Place, Inc., and host of the MeetHERtech podcast on YouTube — dedicated to helping leaders and founders build the relationships that move businesses forward. In her role at The Right Place, she provides retention, expansion, and site location assistance to national and international IT and tech companies and serves as lead architect of the Grand Rapids 10-Year Tech Strategy.
Her economic development results speak for themselves. Jen has led high-impact projects including the Auvesy GmbH landing, MCPc's Grand Rapids expansion (28 jobs, $2.8M capital investment), the CUP Acquisition, LLC deal (54 jobs, $2M capital investment), and the Ludus headquarters relocation to Grand Rapids — chosen over Chicago and Austin — bringing 37 new jobs and $310,000 in capital investment.
Jen's broader work is rooted in personal experience. When her own company struggled in 2008, the absence of a trusted network forced her to sell the business. That defining moment became her mission: ensuring no leader has to navigate their hardest moments alone.
In 2024, Jen founded the Coffee Circle network, launched MeetHERtech to amplify women in technology, and grew the invitation-only Technology Council of West Michigan from 4 members to more than 70 — cementing her reputation as one of the region's foremost community builders. Her clients have raised capital, scaled their companies, and found genuine support through her introduction and communities.
Today, Jen is the go-to authority where real relationships, practical support, and thoughtful connection meet.
