Description

NEW RULES - Employee v. Independent Contractor

'But they set their own hours!' - Wrong. 'They work from home!' - Also wrong. 'They use their own computer!' - Really wrong. If these are your go-to reasons for classifying workers as independent contractors, you need this session!

Small business law expert Leigh Moss is here to bust the myths that could cost you thousands under the Department of Labor's game-changing classification rules. With her trademark straight talk and practical wisdom, Leigh will take you beyond the obvious to show you what REALLY matters in contractor classification.

You'll discover:

  • The true 'profit and loss' factors that the DOL and IRS actually care about (spoiler: it's not about flexible schedules!)
  • Real-world examples that might make you rethink your current classifications
  • Practical steps to protect yourself whether you're hiring contractors or working as one
  • The critical questions most business owners never think to ask (but should!)

Perfect for business owners, consultants, and professionals on both sides of the contractor relationship. Join us for this session that cuts through the confusion with clarity and actionable insights. No legal jargon - just straight talk about protecting your business and staying compliant.
