SE Downtown Detroit Luncheon Affinity Group

Our speaker is going to be Janet Hethorn, Dean of the College of Communication and Fine Arts of Central Michigan University. The CMU Detroit Office is being used for classes, career services' offerings, professional development events, prospective student financial aid workshops and college exploration events, alumni gatherings, and more.   

There is parking available in the building, Kennedy Square Parking, off Griswold.

**Central Michigan University has been in metro-Detroit for over forty years providing educational opportunities for the community. Our commitment to the city of Detroit and service to our alumni, students, and residents, help to enhance CMU's presence in the area and promote educational opportunities that are available. We are active in helping our students obtain internships and employment with businesses in metro-Detroit.

CMU has been in the Detroit area for nearly 40 years since opening an off-campus learning center at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. The downtown office is the university's seventh current location in metro Detroit.

The CMU Detroit Office is being used for classes, career services' offerings, professional development events, prospective student financial aid workshops and college exploration events, alumni gatherings, and more. Nearly 50,000 CMU alumni live and work in metro Detroit. Central Michigan University also has a tremendous investment in the region through its efforts in K-12 education. CMU has chartered 8 public schools in the city and an additional 26 schools in metro Detroit serving more than 18,000 students.

Downtown Detroit Affinity Group
Lunch meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.  Meeting locations vary from month-to-month as our group focuses on highlighting businesses, companies and organizations within the Detroit city limits.  We offer a light lunch and refreshments at all our meetings.  All are welcome.
