Barbara Boldt will present Build Your Presentation Muscle: Create and Present a Mini-TED Talk. Part 1: Learning the Skills
In today’s fast-paced, distraction-laden business world, knowing how to create and deliver an impactful business presentation is a crucial skill. In this interactive, two meeting series, you will learn how to create and present a 5–7-minute TED style talk in a safe and supportive environment.
In the first session, Barbara Boldt will lead a presentation skills workshop that covers:
- -Establishing your goals
- -Assessing your audience
- -Structuring your message for maximum impact
- -Incorporating story for added umph
- -Delivering with confidence
Between the workshop and the next meeting, you will have one month to prepare your mini-TED style talk (you will receive clear instructions about what to do).
During the second meeting you will present your TED-style talk to an audience and get constructive feedback from both Barbara and the audience.
Note: if you want to present in the second session, you must have attended the first. The meeting will feature light hors d'oeuvres and networking 6 – 6:30 and Barbara’s presentation will begin at 6:30 pm.
Barbara Boldt – Transformational Facilitator, Speaker, and Coach
For over two decades, Barbara has empowered introverted and non-native English-speaking tech professionals to develop the persuasive communication skills they need to advance their careers and create greater impact.
After living and working in Europe for 20+ years, helping professionals from 35+ countries to deliver effective business presentations, Barbara has developed a unique ability to identify why a message is not connecting. Whether due to structural issues, language inconsistencies or delivery flaws, she helps her clients transform how they communicate so they can get heard and recognized for their contributions.
Drawing from her lived international experience, Barbara delivers high impact, engaging, workshops that give her audiences the tools they need to overcome their communication challenges and present their big ideas with confidence.
Barbara holds an M.A. in International Relations from The University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, and a B.A. in Nutrition from the University of Iowa. She resides in Southeast Michigan, USA with her partner, Robert.
