Description

Leading Consciously

With 5 generations in the workforce, how to manage, collaborate and understand other generations is a priority for organizations.

This lab will examine the five generations, their upbringing and history, and how each has shaped the workplace today as we know it. Each generation's values, attitudes, working styles, and communication preferences will be covered.

Together, we’ll normalize the hard parts of learning – and unlearning – how to recognize our biases. Participants will leave with tips and tools to understand biases and language to help reset and offer others a “clean slate” by challenging them when they arise.

Throughout the lab, participants will engage in group discussions and guided self-reflection. By the end, you’ll leave with a comprehensive understanding of each generation, their values in the workplace, and a toolkit of strategies to better collaborate and communicate.

In this lab, you will:

  • -Gain an understanding of the 5 generations and how each shaped the workplace as we know it today – a brief (but fun) history lesson
  • -Learn the priorities of each generation
  • -Learn how to work across generations – understanding and recognizing our biases, learning where and how they do and don’t serve us
  • -Gain knowledge of how to best show up, collaborate and communicate regardless of generational differences
