Carrie will address your questions regarding volunteering including “Are you looking to make a difference in your community?”, “Are you considering a career change and looking to gain experience in a new field?” “Are you interested in taking on a leadership position?”. Volunteering is a great way to achieve personal fulfillment and professional development.

Carrie’s company, Southwest Solutions is a non-profit organization that serves metro Detroit in the area of mental health counseling, affordable housing/homeownership, education, workforce development, personal finance, entrepreneurship, neighborhood beautification and community engagement. Prior to Southwest Solutions, Carrie worked for Senator Carl Levin for six years until he retired in 2015. During her time at the Senator’s office, she was an active volunteer at the Mercy Education Project and helped coordinate their teen program. Carrie is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn and writes a blog, CarrieD Away www.carriedawaydetroit.com about life in Detroit.
