The Wisdom of Good Health - Understanding Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine
This lecture will guide attendees through the various aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Class participants will gain an understanding of the history of TCM, the foundations of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, diet, nutrition, and other holistic ways to good health. The class will include lecture and demonstration, as well as introduction to tongue and pulse diagnosis.
Julie Silver, M.S.W., L.Ac., is president and founder of Michigan Associates of Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine. Julie is a NCCAOM board-certified Acupuncturist with a degree from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. In addition, she has a master’s degree in social work (M.S.W.) from Wayne State University. She is a former Board Member of the Michigan State Acupuncture Board and is active in the State and Local Acupuncture community. She has been in practice since 2000.
What is the purpose of the group?
Public interest in complementary and holistic healthcare options continues to grow as people seek healthier options to preserving and maintaining good health without relying on medications.
The group is focused on providing information, resources, and support for women around health and wellness issues. It will provide accessible strategies, techniques and resources women can adopt to make positive changes in their own health and lives.
We plan a wide range of health and wellness topics that women will find practical and useful in their daily health maintenance. We expect to host guest speakers who are subject matter experts in their fields.
