Description

WoW is very pleased to announce that Jennifer Pillow-White of Trusted Therapeutics LLC will be presenting CranioSacral Therapy for Wellness and Beyond at our July meeting on 20 July 2023 at noon.

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, manual therapy that addresses tension in the body that directly affects the nervous system. Jennifer will discuss some history and scientific background to this wonderful therapy. Also, she will share how CranioSacral Therapy would be appropriate for many different concerns and why this may be something to add to your personal care regime. CranioSacral therapy is based in osteopathic medicine and was developed by a Michigan native, Dr. John Upledger D.O. Over the past few decades it has become an increasingly important modality for a wide range of medical issues. Pillow-White is a CranioSacral Therapist from Troy, Michigan. She is a graduate of University of Detroit (BA ’94, MS ’96) and Irene’s Myomassology(’03). She has been a self-proclaimed science geek since childhood. After receiving CranioSacral therapy as a young adult, she decided to blend her knowledge in anatomy and neuroscience and her new studies from the Upledger Institute. She has been active with the Upledger Institute as a student, teacher assistant, presenter, and certified study group leader for the last 20 years. In her private practice, she commonly works with newborns and children for breastfeeding concerns, torticollis, and lip/tongue tie (TOT) issues. In addition, she sees adults for various concerns, including migraines, concussions, long COVID disorder, and several other neurological concerns.

What is the purpose of the group?

Public interest in complementary and holistic healthcare options continues to grow as people seek healthier options to preserving and maintaining good health without relying on medications.

The group is focused on providing information, resources, and support for women around health and wellness issues. It will provide accessible strategies, techniques and resources women can adopt to make positive changes in their own health and lives.

We plan a wide range of health and wellness topics that women will find practical and useful in their daily health maintenance. We expect to host guest speakers who are subject matter experts in their fields.
