 Connections 1 – Opening the Door

Have you ever walked into a meeting room and realized you knew absolutely no one? Or noticed a newcomer who was looking a little lost but you were uncomfortable with breaking the ice? Perhaps you have those words of wisdom floating through your head, “Be interestED, not interestING.” Maybe you’re the leader and you’re uncomfortable with being the icebreaker.

STOP!

Introverts and extroverts dislike these types of conversations that are so necessary to developing new relationships. Mention the term “small talk” and most people shudder.

In Part One of our two-part series on connections and communication, Stella and her co-facilitator (and fellow Fab Five Affinity Group leader) Andrea Wright will playfully approach the idea of what to say when you have no idea of what to say.

Stella Woitulewicz left a career in corporate finance to pursue her love of learning, training, coaching, Girl Scouting, and community theatre. She is now an independent learning experience consultant.

Troy Affinity Group Meeting

The mission of the Inforum Troy Morning Networking Group is to be the one meeting you look forward to attending each month. We are committed to an “apology-free” zone so do not apologize if you’re a few minutes late, or if you need to leave a few minutes early (we’ve ALL been there). Our goal is to be a welcoming, supporting networking group for professional women. The group meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.
