Inforum's 60th Annual Meeting

June 29th

“Dreaming Big and Taking Risks” is the theme for Inforum’s 60th annual meeting, and it’s apropos. On July 30, 1962, 23 women showed the power of networks by forming a luncheon club for women office workers and professionals to create a force for the advancement of women. Six decades later, we are 4,500 members strong, and our broad portfolio of work is supported by more than 100 companies across Michigan. Please join us from 11:30-1:30 p.m. on June 29 at the Troy Marriott to celebrate this milestone and hear from two amazing women who have taken risks to pursue their own dreams. Attendees will get a chance to participate in Rebel Nell's "What does Inforum means to you?" mural that will later be made into jewelry for sale.

Panel

Raquel A. Salas Guzman

Raquel was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, sometimes without electricity or running water. A move to Puerto Rico and then to law school – before she spoke English proficiently - at Michigan State University. That led to a position at Warner, Norcross + Judd before becoming a founding partner and the managing member of Avanti Law Group in Wyoming, Mich. Along the way, she took up high-altitude climbing. Her first climb? Mt. Kilimanjaro.

In 2008, Raquel was a guest of President George W. Bush at the White House, and in 2015, she was invited once again by President Barack Obama to attend a policy briefing for leaders from across the country. Raquel writes and lectures on business, law, and entrepreneurship. Her writing has been published in legal and business journals.
