Discover Manufacturing was co-founded by West Michigan Works and The Right Place Manufacturers Council in 2015.
West Michigan Works Manufacturing Sector Lead
and Discover Manufacturing Coordinator
Jerry Hill is the Discover Manufacturing Industry Council Lead at West Michigan Works serving manufacturers in our seven-county region in West Michigan. Discover Manufacturing is a collaborative comprised of manufacturers, educators, economic developers, and workforce development focused solely on talent initiatives. Jerry has served in this role for over five years and is responsible for leading several initiatives for our 48-member team including Discover Manufacturing Week, MiCareerQuest, Adopt a School, Career Pathways and many others. Jerry has led the efforts of Discover Manufacturing Week for six years and has grown the program to be recognized as one of the top programs in the nation with over 200 manufacturers opening their doors to over 10,000 students.
Jerry and his wife of 32 years live in beautiful Holland Michigan after moving from Anchorage Alaska. After a 35-year career in the hospitality industry I am pleased to use my project management skills to assist manufacturers in our area. In my spare time I volunteer giving back to youth, garden, travel, sail, fish, and competitive BBQ.
