Description

The A2 Affinity Co-chairs are happy to have one of our own presenting to the group in June. Kris Liebau will be leading a discussion on Imposter Syndrome: Reframe Your Story.

Do you feel that if you have achieved something that anyone could have done it?
Do you feel like you are where you are today due to luck?
Do you blow off compliments thinking people are just saying things to be nice?

You may be experiencing what is called “imposter syndrome”. Harvard Business Review has summarized it as “doubting your abilities and feeling like a fraud. It disproportionately affects high-achieving people, who find it difficult to accept their accomplishments. Many question whether they’re deserving of accolades.” This failure to internalize our success and accomplishments can lead us to putting in a lot more work than is needed to get the job done, drains our energy, and prevents us from speaking up and letting ourselves shine.

One of the best things you can do to combat these feelings is name it to tame it, normalize what you are feeling, and rewrite your personal narrative. Join in on the discussion with some fellow “imposters” as we shed light on how we limit our own potential and reframe our stories.

About Kris

Kris Liebau, CMC, CMQ/OE, CQE, believes it’s possible to act with impact.
As the founder of Action & Ease Leadership Coaching, Kris helps engineering executives and managers propel themselves and their teams forward. She’s best known for her innovative, 2-part coaching program that empowers you to identify the most valuable actions to take to grow yourself, lead with ease, communicate effectively, and guide your team to reach their potential.

Kris comes to this work having trained hundreds of people across her 20+ year career in leadership roles in engineering, quality, manufacturing, and the National Ski Patrol. She holds a master’s degree in engineering management, multiple key quality and engineering certifications, and several top coaching and change leadership certifications. In all that she does, Kris is passionate about guiding you to be able to trust yourself, reach others, and act with impact together.

When she’s not coaching leaders and their teams, you’ll find Kris skiing the snowy slopes near Detroit, MI, where she lives with her daughter and her husband, Brian. Beyond being on her skis, she finds joy in a hot fresh brewed cup of loose-leaf English breakfast tea, the opportunity to lay in her hammock with a great view, and sharing a cold Michigan microbrew with friends.
