Defining Success: Words, Intentions, Results with Rita Brown
The event will be a workshop format where attendees will hear the presentation and then have the opportunity to go into breakout Zoom rooms to discuss, share, and network.
Rita Brown Bio:
Rita Brown brings 25+ years of experience, industry excellence to her projects. Brown is an accomplished professional detailer specializing in structural/misc. steel services and a leader in practical and proven diversity/equity business strategies, workforce imperatives and program development. A passionate and proven advocate for parity, opportunity, and advancement for women and minorities, Brown is also an award-winning writer, small business owner, speaker and podcast host. Notable structural projects executed include commercial and industrial modeling of medical facilities, ISD’s and sports stadiums, over the course of her career. In a volunteer capacity, Brown currently serves NOW as Oak/Mac President [National Organization for Women], Consultant to Macomb County Habitat for Humanity, President/CEO of North American Professionals in Building and Infrastructure, National Director for The Build Initiative [workforce and education programs for women], AGC National D&I Immediate Past Chairwoman [Assoc. Of General Contractors] is a contributing outreach lead for MASCI, a registered apprenticeship collaborative in the state of MI, and a member of GLFEA [Great Lakes Fabricator and Erectors Association]. She also serves as a Lawrence Technological University STEM advisory Board member. This mom of five brings authenticity, experience and an unapologetic claiming of space at the table, in an industry that is often challenging. She brings her own chair.
