Exit Planning for the Self-Employed and Solopreneur with Marilyn Opdyke

Planning for retirement is never easy but looking ahead to retirement when you’re self-employed complicates things. Or does it? With so many of us in our Troy Affinity Group operating as “solopreneurs”, let’s talk about the basics and the nuances of retirement from this work model. Plus there will be plenty of ideas for those looking ahead to retiring from corporate or other organizational settings.

Marilyn will share her perspective as a recent retiree and engage others to share their experiences and tips as well. Please join us to start thinking about what might work for you.

Marilyn Opdyke retired in February as the owner and principal consultant for the Opdyke Consulting Group, Inc., a management consulting group she founded in 1999 after 23 years serving in various corporate leadership roles. Her company specialized in leadership development, organizational development, and the contributions of people to the success of organizations. Her mission, Developing Leaders…Facilitating Solutions, still guides here even in retirement. As a new retiree Marilyn brings a unique perspective to the challenges and enjoyment of stepping away from work she loved after a long and diverse career. ,

The mission of the Inforum Troy Morning Networking Group is to be the one meeting you look forward to attending each month. We are committed to an “apology-free” zone so do not apologize if you’re a few minutes late, or if you need to leave a few minutes early (we’ve ALL been there). Our goal is to be a welcoming, supporting networking group for professional women.
