Tips on a Successful Career Transition
During our working years, we all face at least one career transition. Whether it’s planned or unplanned, a successful transition to a new job, a new role, or an entirely new career requires some serious effort.
Our featured presenter is Cheryl Carr, Outreach Coordinator/Career Services Advisor at Walsh College and one of this affinity group’s co-leaders. She will be joined by Angela Zangarola, MBA, CDFA, and founder of Quantum Wealth Strategies, LLC, who will be sharing her own first-hand experiences.
Cheryl Carr began her career working in Human Resources for Creative Industries and Modern Engineering after graduating from Oakland University. Cheryl graduated from Walsh College with her Master of Science degree in Management. She is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDFF) and Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW). After working in the automotive industry, she changed her career focus to higher education. She joined Walsh College Career Services department where she counsels with students and alumni to be successful in attaining their career goals. Cheryl’s position as Outreach Coordinator/Career Services Advisor includes conducting workshops on job search related topics, meeting with employers, attending networking events, and marketing the services the college offers to businesses. Cheryl is a member of MCEEA and NACE professional organizations. In addition, Cheryl volunteers her career coaching services to several non-profit organizations.
Angela Zangarola has over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, including several years of providing education, marketing support, and analysis to hundreds of financial advisors exploring comprehensive insurance solutions to meet the needs of their clients. Having personally experienced the challenges of divorce, she understands how daunting life can feel during this difficult time. As a business owner, she also understands the unique challenges business owners face. Angela is a member of Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts and former co-director for the Women’s Divorce Resource Center (WDRC) in Oakland County. As an Advisory Board member of the SheHive women’s leadership development program, she volunteers her time educating women facing life-changing events on financial matters. After earning an MBA from Walsh College, she continues to be active in the Walsh College community.
