Preparing yourself and your household to return to work and school

Most of us have been working from home for the past year and half, and have grown comfortable with the new routine. Wearing stretchy pants, commuting 30 seconds from the kitchen to the home office, and being there when the Amazon packages are delivered. Our kids have been moving at their own pace, and our pets are used to hanging out at our feet all day long. Are we truly ready for September?!

Join a panel of experts to get some tips and techniques for returning to “normal” life in a gentle way, with time for questions and answers.

We’ll meet with…

Nicole Lewis

Senior Business Modernization Transformational Change Director

Katelin Thomas

Director, Behavioral Health Services

Michigan Humane

Our pets have enjoyed our work-from-home status possibly more than anyone. How many Zoom calls feature your dog sleeping in the background or your cat stepping over your keyboard in front of the screen? They’ve enjoyed being in our presence during the day, going outside more often, more frequent walks, and getting pets by nudging us at will. When we go back to the office, our companions will miss us terribly. Katelin will present techniques we can begin now to ease the transition down the road.

Katelin is the founder of K9 Turbo animal training, a leader in force-free, science and reinforcement-based training. She now leads a team of behavior specialists at Michigan Humane that evaluate, enrich and prepare thousands of shelter animals for their journey to adoption.

The New WorkStyle: Getting Dressed for a Post-Lockdown Office

Shifts and “pivots” have been the name of the game in our recent past, and this next change begs a visit to your wardrobe. You’ve been working from home (yes, we see you wearing that great top with the decade-old PJ bottoms), but now you’re preparing for a return to the office. You’ll be seeing clients, customers, & team members in person. It’s time to start dressing stylish again, but you feel different, and you might look differently, too. The new take on “success dressing” considers a changed set of circumstances and priorities. Patty gives us tips to navigate and ease the transition to a new era in workplace style.
