We are excited to invited you to join the next A2 Affinity meeting with Lisa Machala of The Collaborative Body as she continues our 2021 theme of Growth and kicks off the Harvest season. Lisa will lead us through exercises and discussion to focus on appreciation and taking stock.
Lisa will begin our session with a conscious breathing exercise from HeartMath Institute that promotes greater physiological coherence. Coherence is the optimal state in which the heart, mind and emotions are operating in sync and balanced. Coherence is the prime enabler of behavior change – unmanaged stress is the prime disabler. Being in “coherence” helps us build resilience capacity and energy reserves.
We will then move to a discussion of mindfulness and mindset, how they differ and how they each support one another for improved clarity and emotional resilience. I will offer some examples of mindfulness and mindset exercises that will be of value to members.
Finally, Lisa will introduce the GLADD journal - a daily mindfulness practice that leverages restorative or renewing emotions that support stress reduction, greater coherence and resilience.
About Lisa
Lisa’s background is rich in diverse experiences. After a successful sales and marketing career at General Motors, she founded her first company in 2004 - Michigan Equine Therapy. In 2018 she founded her second business which evolved into The Collaborative Body. Her coaching reflects her professional experience as well as her varied training in manual (massage and Craniosacral) therapy, energy therapy, and coaching with horses. She also leverages her personal experiences with past health challenges to meet women where they are and help them create the vibrant life and health they desire and deserve. Lisa believes that we have all the resources we need within ourselves and that our bodies are great repositories of wisdom. When we collaborate with that wisdom, we can create the lives we desire. She is dedicated to helping women leaders overcome their internal challenges, so they are free to make a big impact in their lives and in the world!
Lisa’s podcast The Art of Living Well with the Collaborative Body is widely available on multiple platforms.
