In our session, Katie McBride will discuss How to Prepare for Career Pivots, including:

· A framework to guide career decisions

· Building (and maintaining!) reciprocal relationships

· Ways to maximize your options late in your career

She also will share some practical tips, including the benefits of 15 minutes of reflection (and documentation!) a year.

Katie’s Background:

Katie is a corporate executive who pivoted her career to coach and consultant over the past five years. She is devoted to helping people make great decisions, manage career transitions and apply strategic communications to solve business challenges.

Katie previously worked at General Motors, starting as an intern and moving to senior leadership roles where she provided strategic counsel, crisis management, internal communications, media relations and message development expertise for two CEOs during the GM bankruptcy, spearheaded global organizational transformation initiatives and led the communications strategy for groundbreaking labor negotiations.

She now leads R3 Communications, a strategic communications consultancy and co-founded Catapult Careers, a student and young professional coaching firm. Katie also works as a senior advisor for LHH in their International Center for Executive Options practice, helping C-Suite leaders navigate career transitions.

Katie received her B.A. in Public Relations, Advertising and Applied Communication from Marietta College and her M.A. in Organizational Communication from Wayne State University. She is chairperson of Wayne State’s Mike Ilitch School of Business Board of Visitors and has published articles in many outlets including CEO World, Chief Executive and Communication World.
