Speakers:

Jelka Petrovic, vice president of business development, CVS Kidney Care

Jelka is passionate about changing the status quo of the health care system by creating innovative, collaborative health care models between providers, payers and employers. Her focus is to improve the lives of the patients we serve. CVS Kidney Care is transforming treatment for patients with chronic kidney disease and end stage renal disease by focusing on early identification of kidney disease, targeted patient engagement and ongoing education to help slow disease progression. Before joining CVS Kidney Care, Jelka led the strategy, provider negotiations and implementation of innovative value-based programs for hospital systems within Aetna’s Joint Ventures Strategy and Innovation team. Her health care career spans over 30 years and includes leadership and executive experience with payer and provider organizations.

 

Rafe Petty, division president, Oak Street Health

Rafe is responsible for the operations and outcomes for Oak Street Health’s centers in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and North Carolina. Oak Street Health is a start-up that provides personalized and compassionate care for adults on Medicare, with a mission to build a primary care delivery platform that directly address rising costs and poor outcomes.He has been with Oak Street Health since 2014, and previously held the roles of regional vice president for south Chicago and northwest Indiana and vice president clinical quality. Prior to Oak Street Health, Rafe worked at the Boston Consulting Group, and was a core member of the healthcare practice area. He holds a PhD from the University of Chicago in Chemistry and a BS from the University of Michigan.

 

 

Liz Popwell, Chief strategy officer, Ascension Michigan

Liz is currently the chief strategy officer for Ascension Michigan, she was appointed this position in January 2019. In this role, she leads the collaborative design and development of the integrated strategic, financial and operational plan (ISOFP) in partnership with the market executive team. She also works collaboratively to develop relationships including strategic growth, hospital/ health system affiliations, and partnerships in the state of Michigan.Prior to this role, Liz was the vice president of strategy executive at Atrium Health where she had previously worked for 17 years. Liz is has been nationally recognized as a thought leader and healthcare executive with measurable growth, population health, and affordability results. To read more about Liz click here

 

 

Patty Roberts, medical director, Rock Health Collective

Patty has spent her career practicing the full scope of primary care, originally in the greater Detroit area, then for several years in Arizona, and now back in Michigan. She has held various leadership roles as Family Medicine Chairperson for 10 years at Arrowhead Hospital in Glendale, Arizona, Chief Quality Officer for Ascension Providence Rochester and most recently Medical Director at Rock Health Collective in Detroit.  Rock Health Collective is a Premise Health onsite clinic that provides concierge-style comprehensive care exclusively for the 20,000 team members of Quicken Loans and the Rock Family of Companies in Michigan. Very happy to be back in Michigan and excited to be a part of shaping the future state of health care.

Bridget Hurd, Chief diversity officer & vice president of inclusion and diversity, Blue Cross Blue Shield 

With 28 years of progressive experience in communications, community relations, corporate giving, and diversity and inclusion, Bridget has worked in the health care industry helping to facilitate stronger linkages among the community and health care institutions. Bridget is responsible for leading and executing the corporate diversity and inclusion strategy and shaping a BCBSM culture of inclusion that emphasizes the recognition, understanding, and acceptance of the differences and similarities in people and that is culturally competent in providing services to its members and customers. She facilitates the diversity leadership council and oversees diversity and cultural competency learning opportunities for employees and 10 employee resource networks. She is also responsible for leading the health disparities action team, and cultivating strong stakeholder relationships and partnerships in diverse and ethnic communities. Bridget was recently appointed to Michigan coronavirus task force on racial disparities.
