Do you and/or your teams feel unsure of how to make an impact towards your company strategy? Join this session to hear from companies in West Michigan how they have translated their corporate strategy to tangible goals in departments and on the manufacturing floor. Three great speakers lined up from companies across West Michigan joins us to present the different ways they engage their manufacturing teams to impact the company’s corporate strategy. 

 

Angela Westfield

Director of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing

Metal Flow Corporation

Angela has been with Metal Flow Corporation over 19 years and held a variety of different positions leading and empowering successful teams. Currently as Director of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing, she is dedicated to driving strategic supply chain initiatives and corporate results. Angela is an effective communicator focused on building partnerships and team collaboration to creatively reduce cost while not jeopardizing quality. She recently completed a Master of Science Degree in Management, Strategy and Leadership from Michigan State University - Eli Broad College of Business and holds a B.A. in Business Administration and Management from Hope College.

 

Ann Mason

Sr. Director Global Oral Care Operations and Supply

Ann is a native Michigander, who has returned back to the Midwest from Texas, where she met her husband and started a family. The three of them have embraced the snow and love to downhill ski, snowshoe, and thaw out in the summer on the water. Ann attended Michigan State University, where she received her Bachelors of Science in Materials Science Engineering and currently finishing up her MBA through the Kelley Direct program at Indiana University. At the beginning of her career, she started out in Engineering and along the way found a passion for Lean/Continuous Improvement and Operations Leadership. Over the years, Ann has gained 19 years of experience in Manufacturing, 17 years of Lean/Six Sigma implementation experience, and 15 years of Leadership experience over varying size Manufacturing Operations. Ann currently leads Perrigo’s Oral Care Operations and Supply teams.

 

Jayna Smith

Operations Manager

Steelcase, Inc.

Jayna Smith has been with Steelcase, Inc. for 8 years and has worked in HR, as well as holding various operations leadership roles during that time. During her role in HR, Jayna developed a training program for all entry level operations leaders. This program was designed to lower the learning curve for new leaders in operations. Currently, as an Operations Manager she is committed to developing her leaders to use lean tools and processes to drive success. Jayna and her team use a data-driven strategic system to continuously improve the business and align that improvement with corporate strategy/goals. She is committed to improving her team’s strategic system to ensure it always promotes collaboration, a safe work environment, a commitment to excellent quality and on-time delivery while maintaining efficient operations to control cost. During her time with Steelcase, Jayna has received various certifications related to lean operations and HR.
