Leading Up, Down and Across
It is no longer enough to manage those below you while reporting to those above you. Influential leadership requires that we lead up, down, and sideways across an organization. But what does that mean?
Leading up, down, and across is a way of influencing change by anticipating the needs of those above you, while rallying the power of those who work beside you, and empowering those below you to affect change.
Leadership does not necessarily require a title, especially when social influence between peers allows those with leadership skills to steer coworkers at all levels toward a goal. Join the Inforum team on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 7:30 am – 9 am to hear from industry Executives about what influential leadership looks like to them, and within their organizations.
