This gathering will be held on Zoom, and will require participants to prepare for the cooking class with a grocery and prep list that will be emailed to all registrants by the first of September. Registrations are limited to 40 attendees.

A little about our host:

Chef Calvin was born and bred in Chicago. A passion for cooking seeded early in his life while cooking at the elbow of his grandmother – simply, with a wholesome breakfast of bacon and eggs.

After 3 years of consulting in corporate America, he decided to pursue his passion for cooking. In the early 2000s, after graduating from culinary school, he joined the Bespoke Cuisine team as a chef in downtown Chicago. There he worked his way up the ladder from a chef to Chef de Cuisine – providing boutique catering and cooking classes.

After nearly a decade at Bespoke, he moved to the Executive Chef position at the Columbia Yacht Club, located in Chicago. He revamped the menu, brought in fresh ingredients and made everything from scratch from the condiments to the main courses for the members and their guests to enjoy healthier and tasty meals.

After his experience as an Executive Chef, he knew his calling was that of a personal chef – providing personalized culinary options to clients. He started this path in Chicago before moving to Dubai in 2014. There, he cooked for clients throughout the Middle East. He was also able to travel extensively to Northern Africa, South Africa, the Middle East, Europe & Asia learning about the various cuisines and bringing creative, customized options to clients, in their homes and workplace.

After repatriating in 2018 and settling in Grosse Pointe Shores, Stockpot Cuisine, Detroit's bespoke personal chef service, was born.

Stockpot Cuisine provides personal chef services including private parties, cooking parties, meal delivery & consulting.

Downtown Detroit Affinity Group
Lunch meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.  Meeting locations vary from month-to-month as our group focuses on highlighting businesses, companies and organizations within the Detroit city limits.  We offer a light lunch and refreshments at all our meetings.  All are welcome.
