Adverse Childhood Experiences in the Workplace

Mental health cost are rising twice as fast as other costs and depression is the leading cause of disability at work. Learn about the role of early childhood experiences in physical, mental and emotional health, and how they contribute to our public health burden. We will explore using stress science to control cost sand help your organization navigate this public health issue.

Deb Timmerman is a Registered Nurse, and Stress Management Strategist, passionate about sharing the neuroscience of stress and stress survival skills with kids, teens and adults. She is regular presenter for the Metro Health-University of Michigan Health Live Healthy Program, delivering content on stress mastery and evidence-based stress management interventions. Deb met the requirements of education, training and experience to achieve the designation of Diplomate through the American Institute of Stress.

She holds certifications in mindfulness and meditation teaching and Tai Chi Easy® Practice Leadership. She was one of forty candidates from all over the world to participate in the inaugural Synergy Certified Stress Mastery Educator Program. She serves as a Community Champions Trainer in the MI ACE Initiative and sits on the West Michigan ACE Initiative Task Force. Deb is the co-chair of the Children and Families Team of the Stress 2020 Initiative for Synergy Brain Health Programs.
