Various studies show that between 55% and 75% of Americans want to own their own business. But turning that dream into a reality can be quite challenging. Then, once the business is started owners need to find ways to grow, sustain, transition, innovate and eventually exit the business. Whew, this can be even more daunting.

No wonder entrepreneurs like us need a little help along the way! Jodie Beckley, who heads up the SBDC office in Livonia will share the various services that SBDC can provide to our fellow Lady Bosses such as consulting, training and market research. The best news? About the Speaker

Jodie Beckley is the Director of the Small Business Development Center at Schoolcraft College. Prior to joining Schoolcraft College, Jodie spent 12 years in the education management industry, and led several divisions at Edison Learning that focused on client assessment and consulting and drove operating performance to deliver annual revenues of $33.5M. Jodie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and International Studies from Wichita State University, a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, also from Wichita State University, and an MBA from Michigan State University. The purpose of the Lady Bosses is to provide educational programming (speakers, workshops), support, inspiration, accountability to and from other Inforum business owners or prospective owners. While much of the Inforum membership is in the corporate world, Lady Bosses Affinity Group is designed to meet the unique needs of business owners. It can also become a catalyst to encourage women to start or purchase their own businesses. The group also can provide and gain synergy from Inforum’s inGAGE strategy. In 2017 just 17 percent of companies had a female founder, a number that hasn’t changed in five years, according to Crunchbase.
