Description

Deb Timmerman will be sharing how we, as professionals and people, bring our stress lens, beliefs and perspectives to the work place and how that influences team development, team cohesiveness, team interactions, work flow, culture and communication style/interactions.

The topic will be: The Human Element in Sustainable Work Teams

Executive Director of Whole Child, Inc. - Deb Timmerman is a Registered Nurse, and Stress Management Strategist, passionate about sharing the neuroscience of stress and stress survival skills with kids, teens and adults. As an experienced nurse manager, Deb designed and implemented complimentary therapy and self-care programs for nursing teams, long term care and hospice residents. Now she shares those tools with the world.

Active in the community, Deb serves as the President of Woman's Life Chapter 905, and West MI Woman's Life Leadership Team. She also serves on the Program Committees of Universal Health Solutions, and INFORUM -West MI Emerging Leaders.

 

Trained as a Community Champion Trainer for the MI ACEs Initiative, she helps build statewide awareness of the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study and the role of Adverse Childhood Experiences in increasing physical, mental and behavioral problems later in life.

 

A regular presenter for Metro Health-University of Michigan Health Live Healthy Program, Deb creates and leads workshops on mindfulness-based stress reduction, meditation, aromatherapy and stress management strategies.

 

Deb has met the requirements of education, training and experience to achieve the designation of Diplomat through the American Institute of Stress, is the co-author of Simply Successful Kids, a stress management and self-regulation curriculum for children, and a certified Practice Leader for the Tai Chi Easy® Program.
