About the Speaker

Anne Doyle is a global speaker, author, journalist, business executive, former elected official, mother and change agent who has been on the front lines of women’s progress for nearly five decades. She is the author of POWERING UP! How America’s Women Achievers Become Leaders and the host of the weekly POWERING UP! podcast – a cross-generational, cross-cultural conversation about women and power.

She began her career as a trailblazing broadcast TV news and sports journalist, covering all the major breakthroughs for women in legal rights, economic opportunity, and cultural attitudes throughout the 1970’s and 80’s. For her leadership role in opening sports locker rooms to women reporters, she was inducted into the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame.  She earned her business credentials as a Ford Motor Company executive and was named one of the “100 Leading Women in the Auto Industry” by Automotive News. A resident of Auburn Hills, she served five years on the Planning Commission and was elected to a four-year term on the Auburn Hills City Council.

Her work as a Global Speaker has taken her to six continents, including assignments for the U.S. State Department in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Trinidad & Tobago and Spain. Mother of a 27-year-old son, Anne serves on the Detroit PAL (Police Athletic League) Board and is the current president of the MI chapter of the International Women’s Forum, which will host the Global Cornerstone Conference of the IWF in Detroit in October 2020.

Downtown Detroit Affinity Group
Lunch meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.  Meeting locations vary from month-to-month as our group focuses on highlighting businesses, companies and organizations within the Detroit city limits.  We offer a light lunch and refreshments at all our meetings.  All are welcome.
