WM Lend A Hand Affinity Group

Welcome to our next Lend A Hand quarterly event being held on Tuesday, September 18^th from 12 noon – 1:30pm at D.A. Blodgett – St. Johns. We will meet at their 2355 Knapp Street location for an informational lunch followed by a tour of their residential care campus to see their work with abused and neglected children firsthand.

As is true with any charitable organization, they are in need of several things for the kids. One way we can help is to bring with us Care Bags. These bags are given to children as they are taken, sometimes quickly, to their foster homes. I’ve attached the list of items that can be purchased for the bags. It is best to purchase a backpack to match the age of the child’s items inside. You can choose any age and/or gender, but please label the outside of the bag so the agency can recognize and use easily.

Example: Female, Age 4 and the backpack could be a theme character adored by a 4 year old. Items could include under garments, socks, blanket, stuffed animal, tooth brush, etc.

Lend A Hand Affinity Group

This is a group in which members will be involved with several volunteer activities around the greater Grand Rapids area throughout the year, gaining the opportunity to develop closer relationships with other Inforum members, meet volunteers from other organizations, and give their time and effort to worthy causes.
